This Sunday’s FoxTrot by Bill Amend takes on the coming revolution. The person who sent me this link wondered if the iPad will have any effect on comic strips…we wonder the same thing. What do you think?
PS: How funny is it to see a cartoonist’s Twitter feed included in the gutter of his strip?
(Thanks to RS for the link.)

I read all my favorite comicstrips online, either via a syndicate website or via a dedicated site. So an ipad… it’s just another webbrowser, albeit eaisier to use.
I do hope that cartoonists and syndicates will embrace Bill Watterson’s example, and utilize the entire real estate of a half-page. Quarters and thirds (or even worse, VERTICAL) layouts for Sunday strips are an insult to the creator and the reader.
What are my faves? 9 Chickweed Lane. XKCD. Retail.
Methinks comics creators will have to start studying the page layouts of the old Sunday strips. Landscape layouts will be the way to go!
BTW, Bill Amend is a genius. Just gotta say…
have no idea who bill amend is, but he obviously is not a comic book fan. this may seem topical, but with all the continuing and current lawsuits going on, appeasing comic book HEIRS, it will be this topic, not more media to expand comic book experiences, which will determine whether or not licensed characters will live or die.
Is there anyone who realizes that the strip has nothing to do with which characters might survive the move to digital comics? Google “iphone” and “flash” to be enlightened.
