With Long Beach and Anaheim getting their own conventions, why not Pasadena? A consortium of
FAME LA , Vanguard Productions, and Animation Ink, in cooperation with Desert Wind Comics, have just announced the LA Rock’n Comic-Con for May 28-30 at the Pasadena Convention Center. Stan Lee is the Guest of Honor, and the press release notes that Stan will be “drastically limiting his signing appearances in 2010″, although this is the third show he’s either appeared at or been announced for, which isn’t all that drastic, given his age and status. Other guests include Jim Steranko and a variety of people from LA’s film and animation industries. More in the PR:

I’m waiting for the San Dimas Comic Con.

  2. April says:

What a terrible convention. Panels were often pushed back and moved without notice. Even then there’d be 10 people in the audience.

The exhibit hall was like a grave, and the exhibitors were frustrated beyond belief because they weren’t making any sales.

The whole thing was just pathetic.

  3. Cary Coatney says:

Glad I skipped on that fiasco.

This con was was just terrible. They didn’t have programs, it was empty, the panels were different than the website stated, it was so bad. The only thing I got out of this event was meeting Barney Burman Star Trek Makeup designer, and Douglas Tait who played the Long Face Bar Alien in Star Trek. Other than that, I would never return.
