Wes Anderson’s SPIDER-MAN

6 Feb

When the name of quirky director Wes Anderson (THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS, FANTASTIC MR. FOX) was floated as a possible replacement for Sam Raimi on the Spider-Man franchise, your first thought was, “What a great idea!” and then your second thought was “Oh, no, that could never work!” And then you saw this YouTube video

and thought, well, maybe it would have been kinda cool.

All kidding aside, THE LIFE AQUATIC WITH STEVE ZISSOU was a pretty good action movie in spots, except for that really badly edited helicopter crash. And his AmEx commercial was edge of your seat!

That was a great Anderson-inspired clip. I was waiting for a Mr. Bloom/Doc Oc type to say, “I was gonna make that tree fall on you.” Still have to see Fantastic Mr Fox come to think of it…

    Needed a Kinks song.

Also, a Wes Anderson Spider-Man film would probably be more about Harry and his father issues than about Peter.
