I shop at Apparitions about once a month or so and this really shook me up. Dave is a nice guy who manages to remember my name even though I'm not an every Wednesday customer (meanwhile, I've been shopping at a store in a different West Michigan town for about 20 years and every time I see he owner he acts like he's never seen me before). When I self-published a comic a year and a half ago, Dave agreed to stock some copies and even made a shelf-talker for me (we ended up selling out our original stock- I think mostly due to Dave's help in marketing). I wish him the speediest of recoveries...

I drive by Apparitions every day on my way home from work. I haven't been in there since I was a young lad buying super hero books, and that was a looong time ago. It is certainly not the kind of place any self respecting criminal would look to score, what a senseless crime. I may have to stop in tonight and pick up a few items. Let's put that economic stimulus check to good use. I really hope this charity auction thing works out too, it warms my heart to see the community rally around a fallen comrade like this.
