As Marion alluded, FoL will have a booth at San Diego as usual. The Lulu Awards were crowded out on Thursday by the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund party, as I recall. Friday (Eisner Awards) and Saturday (Masquerade) would have been no better.

I’ll act as the harbinger of doom….

So, is this the beginning of the end for SDCC? With it becoming more expensive and more welcoming to video game companies and movies, will the comics part of the con be left out in the cold?

You’d think the con heads would take an offense to such a great comic book organization basically leaving them for another.

My brother, niece, and I (Southern Californians all) will miss the awards. *sniff*

But if it brings more attention (and attendees!), then I’m all for the move.

(Besides, it won’t be much different for us than when the awards were held in a tavern, and my niece was too young to be allowed in.)
