Anyone notice how Dark Horse has an unprecedented 9 comics in the top 300? Nobody has had more than 2 over the last few years other than Marvel or DC. I see it has already helped for huge hype on it's other DH books like Umbrella Academy and The End League.

The graphic novel is the story that Rolland tells (along with some of his rememberings in other books) of his youth and becoming a gunslinger, in Wizards and Glass. W & G is the fourth book in the Dark Tower series, which is what I'm up to right now. So far, they've all been really good reads, albeit a little long in the tooth at times. King is a damn good writer.

For the new generation of Dark Tower readers - isn't the graphic novel collection supposed to be the prequel to the book series? I was thinking of rereading the ones I have and buy the ones I haven't read yet.

Caveat Lector: these titles are what comicbook stores bought from Diamond, not what was sold to consumers.
To the wizards who crunch the monthly sales data: Would you please post a parallel list of approximate numbers, AND tag each title which had either reorders or second printings? And, if I'm not being too greedy, another list by title, listing all entries on the yearend list, and a brief synopsis? Vielen Dank!

“If only we could get best selling authors to write comics, we’d be okay!”

As much as I love the Dark Tower comics (and they are some of the best comics of the year, I have nothing against adaptations for adaptations sake) and the books, I have to counter this comment with, "If only we had more faith in comics themselves." Then we wouldn't feel the need to pander to other mediums for support. If you truly feel a burning need to bring in best selling authors, ask yourself, "Why?" Is it to bring in more money? If you're a big comic company, that's completely understandable, but it does nothing for the art form. Is it for a wider audience? For the MOST PART, that's just an illusion. Take heart in what you love, my friends. It is a great thing that we do, even if we are not ourselves "big name authors." Now, having said all that, I still read and enjoy all of my old Anne Rice, Clive Barker, and Ray Bradbury comics, which is the only reason I need. :)

(re: a bit of closure to see comics based on works by Stephen King doing so well here)
I'm almost finished reading King's 7 novel Dark Tower BOOK series.
This last book, #7, is 1050 pages.
I haven't read the comic mini series, but can't imaaaagine how anyone could condense a series of novels that must run at least 5,000 pages, into a 7 issue comic.
Even at the ratio of: a picture= 1000 words, ha ha
