Will Smith is HANCOCK

The world’s most loved movie star is to play a superhero! And here is the trailer for HANCOCK which was originally called TONIGHT HE COMES.

But what kind of superhero will Will Smith play?

A hard-living superhero (Will Smith) who has fallen out of favor with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the public relations professional (Jason Bateman) who’s trying to repair his image.

After viewing the trailer, you will agree…superhero movies are getting post-modern and grim ‘n’ gritty!

Our review? We want to see it! The Ludacris/Mystikal song was a particularly nice touch. Move bitch, get out th’way!

Looks pretty damn funny! (And kind of sad.)

  2. After seeing this thoroughly appalling trailer, all I can say is…”Awwww, HELL no!”

  3. Red Stapler says:

    Oh I get it!

    It’s The Incredibles: After Dark!

(Seriously, between The Incredibles, Civil War, the Watchmen movie, and I’m sure several other “events” I’m not thinking of, the “Superheroes fucking up” trope is getting a little…played?)

  4. Russell Smith says:

This reminds me…what ever happened to that movie that Will Smith had signed on to do with one of Rob Liefeld’s “creations”, “THE MARK”. It was basically a Green Lantern/Star Brand rip off…

Not that I’m clamoring for it, but it makes me wonder what the status is of that movie….not to mention the Jennifer Lopez flick Liefeld had on the schedule about a superhero psychiatrist.

And they say they don’t make good movies anymore…

  5. Alex says:

I remember this was announced about a month or so after The Incredibles came out, so the inspiration is pretty direct.

Will Smith as a sickly drunk looks a little weird, but crap! That action, those broken windows, that flung whale! That looks great!

  6. Susie says:

Didja see the number of cars on the freeway? Wotta fantasy! Hopefully they’ll put in more cars later.

I remember when they closed off the 105 for this thing.

  7. i must say, your blog is very good, i will be checking back to read more
