Wasn’t there something about a “mid-quel” movie filling in the alleged gaps between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings?

Given that the White Council thought the Necromancer was the Witch King, I wonder if Peter “literal” Jackson will have the great big jellyeye movie-Sauron floating about in a big black cape disguise…

At least something good came out of that ham-handed GOLDEN COMPASS movie. I wonder if Robert Shaye used Chap Stick before puckering his lips…

This is great news. The two movies are a great idea. It has been rumored before and I think the idea most likely to happen over any other is that they will also film the White Council segment that Gandalf is involved with during the time of The Hobbit to drive out The Necromance (Sauron) from Mirkwood. Since it happens during the middle of the book they could intersperce that tale as well so they don’t loose Gandalf for a good Third to Half of the Film.

movies are dumb. books rule.

Golden Compass tried to cram in too much for too short a time.

I wish more books would get adapted into expensive miniseries!

They better have Beorn in it dammit! Best scene in all the books is when Beorn comes rampaging into the battle at the end as a bear to rescue Thorin. Gets me all teary-eyed just thinking about it.
