  1. Kaleb says:

Probably the first ever science-fiction manga featuring Spiderman versus the Purple Pirate

  2. Peter Krause says:

Agggh! “Pacting”! Another noun acting as a verb!

    (Runs from the room screaming…….)

  3. Bill Aguiar says:

Oh good. I first mentioned this when the panel descriptions went up, thinking it was just the fact that I was not wired into the NY publishing scene that I didn’t know what was going on.

  4. KS says:

I’m thinking it’s just Marvel trying it’s hand at Manga with someone who knows what they are doing.

  5. 2 words:

    X-Men Yaoi.

(Get THAT image out of your brain, why don’t you)

  6. Bill Aguiar says:

Are you kidding? I suspect that there is more Wolverine/Cyclops slash stories out there than Marvel’s entire X-Men output since the 60s…

  7. Jason Green says:

Maybe we’ll finally see the entire Ryoichi Ikegami Spider-Man manga translated? Or is that a pipe dream?

  8. mario boon says:

Actually, wasn’t Civil War just Pokemon for adults?

How much more fun would CW have been if it were drawn that way?

  9. Brian Spence says:

This makes total sense, and in a way, it was just a matter of time.

  10. Torsten Adair says:

So Random Haus is working with both Marvel AND DC. I suspect that Marvel might create a separate line, probably allowing Del Ray to license their properties produced overseas. Possibly similar to the Harlequin/Dark Horse romance manga, but backwards.
If this works, perhaps Marvel might create a teen line. It’s been 20 years since the last universe…

  11. Crowley says:

where does this leave the Dabels?

[...] Other news to arise from the world of manga publishing: Publishers Weekly’s Calvin Reid reports that Tor Books and Seven Seas Publishing have entered a partnership to release licensed and original manga. Seven Seas’ Jason DeAngelis will continue to supervise the OEL manga in which his company specialized, while he’ll work with Tor’s sales vice-president (and former Tokyopop sales vice-president) Steve Kleckner to select Japanese-language comics for domestic translation. Meanwhile, Heidi MacDonald notes that Del Rey Manga and Marvel Comics may be up for a bit of collaborating as well. [...]
