Well, only yesterday we were editing a story on LUCHA LIBRE, a drop-dead gorgeous book in the Euro style, first published in France by Humanoids, but now coming out from Image. And now it has a movie deal!:

Producer Pierre Spengler has confirmed that “Luchadores 5,” to be directed Michael Olmos, will be the first movie to emerge from his 12-pic deal with European comicbook publisher Humanoids.

Project, scripted by Adrian A. Cruz, is based on the comicbook series “Lucha Libre,” written by Belgian author Jerry Frissen and drawn by French artists Bill and Gobi.

Set in East Los Angeles, it’s a comedy about five Latino wrestlers who form a masked vigilante group to clean up their neighborhood.
