I have this belief that Ultimate Fighter is really just America's Next Top Model, but with dudes that beat the crap outta each other. Same stupid drama, and still hella fun to watch.

As for UFC 69, I still cannot believe that Matt Serra beat GSP. I'm looking forward to UFC 71 though, when Chuck Liddell fights Rampage Jackson.

I was worried that you'd forgotten about this.

My gut reaction is the same as yours--crazy fighters = entertaining season. And the Pulver-Penn thing looks to be better than Ortiz-Shamrock, especially since their fight should be a bit more competitive. Though to be realistic, Pulver appears to be on the downside of his career--you know that contestant Joe Lauzon (aka J-Lau, unfortunately) beat him in a recent UFC event, right? At least Lauzon didn't end up fighting on Pulver's team. That would have been a little awkward.

Here's the question I always like forcing my wife to answer--who is the best looking fighter this season? Cole Miller looks like Stephan Bonnar's ugly little brother, J-Lau could fly if he flapped his enormous ears, and Lobstah Man looked like he'd baked in the sun too long. We need more data.

I can't stand it when the show focusses on the fighters' Animal House antics. Just give me some fights!

The first episode though was great. BJ Penn punking out Pulver was one of the best monents in the history of the show. Why would anyone want Pulver as coach over Penn?

But, Heidi -- nothing on the 5'6" hobbit Matt "The Terrah" Serra winning the world title? It's even more ridiculous than Couture beating Silvia!

What channel is this on? I love MMA but I don't have cable so I've just been watching IFL Battleground on channel 9 Monday nights (which is awesome, btw, you need to see any fight with this Chris Horodecki kid - he looks like he's 15 but he fights like a beast!).

After the departure of Kendall Grove (who also won at UFC 69), we were afraid we'd never get to hear that wonderful Hawaiian accent again, so thank God for BJ Penn.
