Lots of tourists come to New York during the holidays; maybe some of them will make time to take in the show for a day or something. (On the other other hand, lodging ain't gonna be cheap in New York during the holidays...) Still, the timing does seem a little weird, but it could be exciting... The Holiday season has alot more people (including anime fans) focused on gifts for others than themselves.
