    Just to clarify, not *all* the publishers affected by the AMS bankruptcy are/were distributed by Publishers Group West. The huge sums of money AMS owes folks like Random House and HarperCollins almost surely arise from AMS’s wholesaling of those publishers’ books, not from PGW’s distribution of those publishers. (Obviously, Random House and HarperCollins and other hugh publishers sell and distribute their own books, not relying on another distributor entity like PGW or NBN or whomever else.)
