Become The Spirit as he fights crime from the shadows of Central City. Rescue a beautiful woman in distress; dodge the bullets of a cold hearted killer; and finally confront your arch-enemy, the Octopus, to save your beloved city.
At each step a bevy of beautiful women will bestow their gifts if you succeed. Chapter 1 and 2 are available now but the rest of the story will unfold soon.

There was this guy see.
He wasn't very bright and he reached his adult life without ever having learned "the facts".
Somehow, it gets to be his wedding day.
While he is walking down the isle, his father tugs his sleeve and says,

"Son, when you get to the hotel room...Call me"

Hours later he gets to the hotel room with his beautiful blushing bride and he calls his father,

"Dad, we are the hotel, what do I do?"

"O.K. Son, listen up, take off your clothes and get in the bed, then she should take off her clothes and get in the bed, if not help her. Then either way, ah, call me"

A few moments later...

"Dad we took off our clothes and we are in the bed, what do I do?"

O.K. Son, listen up. Move real close to her and she should move real close to you, and then... Ah, call me."

A few moments later...

"DAD! WE TOOK OFF OUR CLOTHES, GOT IN THE BED AND MOVED REAL CLOSE, WHAT DO I DO???"

"O.K. Son, Listen up, this is the most important part. Stick the long part of your body into the place where she goes to the bathroom."

A few moments later...

"Dad, I've got my foot in the toilet, what do I do?"

I have long been a fan of both Eisner and Miller and when I learned that Miller was directing, I got really jazzed. I believe that with the reverence that Frank has for Mr. Eisner, we will get a really entertaining movie. Despite being totally turned off by All-Star Batman, I think Miller will hew closer to what The Spirit is all about. Batman is a character who has experienced many interpretations over almost seventy years, but The Spirit is inherently Eisner and Frank respects Eisner. Give Frank the benefit of the doubt here.

I hope Miller is looking at the current DC Spirit comic book series by Darwyn Cooke, it's wonderful. Exciting, humorous, romantic, wonderfully paced....inspired! It also stays true to the storytelling of Eisner in the sense that it's not really so much "about" The Spirit, as it is about the characters who are central to each story. I repeat...story....story....story!

Dude, before that, Bird openly homaged The Spirit in "The Iron Giant," in which the character is mentioned by name and the cover of a comic is even shown. Spirit, along with Superman, is one of the characters that young Hogarth introduces the Giant to when teaching him about heroism.
