Wow, what a bunch of judgemental holier-than-thous! I have been a comics fan for a long time & realize that there are lots of female type people IN THE BUSINESS. I read quite a few of them (hello, Heidi!). But out here in the not so pretty “real world” where precious few people read comics AT ALL, I must confess that I know only one girl (pretty, if you’re keeping score) who reads/knows about comics. As for taking offence at the choice of conversation, anonymous II, you have heard of this Kevin Smith person before, haven’t you?

Naturally, both goddess and normal are subjective terms. I think Mr. Smith was trying to say “This rising Hollywood superstar who is very attractive also happens to like the same examples of sci-fi and comic geekery that I like.”
